We often need clients to provide copies of their documents. These can include a copy of a court paper they’ve received, an agreement they have signed, and documents they are required to produce in the discovery process.  

We prefer clients to provide documents in the Adobe PDF format.

Frequently, especially at the beginning of the case, the client needs to send us a copy of the court paper they received. Clients often take photographs of each page in JPG format and send us an e-mail with 12 JPG images attached to it.   

Once we receive an email like that, paralegal time has to be devoted to combining and converting the JPG images to PDF format. Which is very costly.

To avoid this step, we ask clients to use the free AdobeScan app instead. If you use the app to take pictures of the document, it will not only render them in PDF format, it will combine them into one document! It will save us the time to combine the various pages.
